About MineSTEM

Computer science that fits a real elementary classroom.

Minestem Inc. writes the curriculum, publishes the books, builds the platform and the apps, and supports the teachers who use them — from San Jose, California.

Every child should meet computer science early, from a teacher they already trust — with a book on the desk, not a login screen.

What we make

Three things that work as one.

The books

MineSTEM Classroom: Computer Science — a Teacher’s Guide and a Student Workbook for each grade from PK–K through Grade 3. Thirty lessons a year in six units, every lesson in the same seven parts, aligned to the CSTA K–12 standards, print-ready with answer keys.

The platform

At minestem.com teachers manage classes and rosters, assign lesson components to a class or to individual students, plan on a teaching calendar, grade against learning targets, produce report cards, keep portfolios and message families.

The apps

The student side of the platform for iPad, iPhone and Android — the same account, lessons and work as the website, built for shared classroom devices with picture-and-code login for the youngest learners.

How we work with schools

A few things we don’t compromise on.

Built for the generalist teacher

No computer science background needed. Every lesson carries its own script, timing and materials list; a first-year teacher and a veteran get the same result.

Schools own their data

We process student information only to provide the service, under the school’s direction, as described in our Privacy Policy. Nothing is sold; nothing is profiled.

No advertising, anywhere

Not in the books, not on the platform, not in the apps. Children see lessons, their own work and their teacher — nothing else.

Paper first, screens second

The ideas are taught with robots, patterns and games on paper. Screens come in where they help: assigning, collecting work, and keeping families informed.

The company

Made in San Jose by teachers and engineers.

Minestem Inc. is a California corporation. The team combines classroom teaching experience with software engineering, and everything — curriculum, books, platform, apps, support — is made in-house.
